Air filters - Foam
Filtration Control Limited was founded on the production of foam air filters in 1980. The polyurethane foam used in our filters offers greater filtration ability giving greater service life and dirt retention capacity.
Used extensively throughout the UK bus industry foam air filters have been successfully field-tested over many years with outstanding results.
Compared to paper, foam has a number of advantages as a filtration medium:
- Unaffected by humid or damp conditions which lead to a loss of filtering capability
- Unaffected by high dust levels/extreme exhaust fumes which can prematurely restrict paper filters (known as surface plating)
- Extended service intervals lead to a saving on maintenance labour

Our Black Diamond range of reticulated polyurethane foam filters are manufactured with five different layers of foam, each varying in density and thickness. The media is "wrapped" into each filter element to dramatically increase the surface area - and more importantly - dirt capacity.
